Multielectron Excitations Above the Xenon L Edges
The X-ray absorption cross section ahove the L edges in Xenon gas has been measured using synchrotron radiation. Multielectron excitation effects are investigated over a few hundred eV region from the Xe-LI, LII. and LIII edges and thc contrihutions from the effects of shakenp and shakeoff to the photoahsorption spectrum are elucidated. Several features for the multielectron excitations were de...
متن کاملConfined Gap Excitations and Multielectron Localization in Magnetic Alloys
The degenerate Anderson model with a nonlinear electron dispersion and an energy dependent hybridization is proven to exhibit hidden integrability and is diagonalized by the Bethe ansatz. If the impurity f -level energy lies below the conduction band edge, the spectrum of the system is shown to contain pairs of confined “gap excitations” and their heavy bound complexes. In addition, multielectr...
متن کاملMultielectron Excitations in X-Ray Absorption Spectra of KOH
The X-ray absorption spectra have been measured near Kedge of a crystalline KOH. After the subtraction of XAFS oscillation, several features caused by multielectron transitions suggested on noble gases were detected on K in solid phase and analyzed by the use of the shakeup and shakeoff probabilities. The [ls2p], [ls3s], and [ls3p] transition onsets have been identified in the compound.
متن کاملDipolar excitations at the LIII x-ray absorption edges of the heavy rare-earth metals.
We report measured dipolar asymmetry ratios at the LIII edges of the heavy rare-earth metals. The results are compared with a first-principles calculation and excellent agreement is found. A simple model of the scattering is developed, enabling us to reinterpret the resonant x-ray scattering in these materials and to identify the peaks in the asymmetry ratios with features in the spin and orbit...
متن کاملExperimental data analysis on xenon above the critical temperature from nonlinear renormalization group
2014 We analyse the scattered light and specific heat data on xenon using the recent nonlinear renormalization group calculations obtained in the ~4 theory in three dimensions. The minimal set of free parameters that the theory imposes is sufficient to describe these data even for the case where, in the usual analysis, many correction terms to scaling are needed. We show that it will be very di...
